We are seeking a Transport Router to support our Transport Team in planning and coordinating the logistics of waste collection and transportation activities. This role is central to ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and high levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining strict compliance with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient operations.
- Liaise with drivers to communicate instructions, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Handle customer enquiries related to transport services in a professional and timely manner.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture by following procedures and participating in training and briefings.
- Assist with weighbridge operations, including accurate documentation and completion of waste transfer notes.
- Represent the business professionally across all operational activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in transport or logistics is essential; experience within waste management is advantageous but not required.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to unexpected operational challenges.
- A valid UK driving licence.
Location & Employment Details
- Based at a site near Wormingford, Colchester.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime as required.
