I'm currently supporting a client located in Colchester, Essex, searching for an experienced Sales Executive. To apply for this role, you MUST have experience selling into the educational sector. Salary - up to £34,000 DOE (OTE £48,000 plus). Reporting to - Sales & Marketing Director.
You will be supporting the continued growth of the business, proactively generating new business, and developing existing education customers. This is a hands-on sales role requiring confidence with cold calling, follow-ups and opportunity conversion, alongside the ability to build long-term relationships with schools and MATs.
Responsibilities- Proactively generate new product sales opportunities within the education sector through outbound calling, email and CRM led activity.
- Manage a pipeline of product-only opportunities from first contact through to order.
- Convert inbound enquiries and outbound leads into confirmed product sales.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system.
- Achieve and exceed product sales revenue targets.
- Promote the businesses wider product range, identifying cross-sell opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction.
- Provide weekly reporting on calls, opportunities, pipeline value and sales performance.
- Attend exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events to confidently promote products.
- Attend meetings with larger customers when required supporting key relationships.
- 3-5 years' experience in B2B sales, within the education sector.
- Proven experience in cold calling and outbound lead generation.
- Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline, activity, and reporting.
- Understanding of the product lifecycle and relationship-led sales.
- Confident communicator with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
- Resilient, motivated and comfortable with rejection.
