The Opportunity

A well-established and highly regarded manufacturing business is looking to appoint a

Production Administrator to join its busy production operation in Witham, Essex.

You will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Production team, helping to ensure that production activities run efficiently and that accurate information is available across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the

Senior Production Planner , you will work closely with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality and other internal teams.

Your role will involve maintaining production records, preparing documentation, supporting production planning and reporting, and ensuring that important information and changes are communicated effectively.

This would suit someone who enjoys a varied administrative role, is highly organised and wants to develop their experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Administration
• Maintain accurate production records, job documentation, schedules and reports.
• Prepare and issue production paperwork, job packs and associated documentation.
• Keep production information and records up to date.
• Support the Production team with general administrative requirements.
• Planning & Reporting
• Support the Senior Production Planner with daily, weekly and monthly production information.
• Assist with monitoring production output, downtime, labour utilisation and operational performance.
• Compile and maintain reports to support production planning and decision-making.
• Highlight discrepancies, delays or issues that could impact production schedules.
• Communication & Coordination
• Act as a point of contact between Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality and other internal departments.
• Ensure production priorities, schedule changes and key updates are communicated clearly.
• Support the smooth flow of information between the production office and operational teams.
• Continuous Improvement
• Support improvements to production administration and document control processes.
• Identify opportunities to reduce errors, duplication and delays.
• Contribute ideas to improve the efficiency and accuracy of production information.

About You

The successful candidate will be organised, detail-focused and confident working in a busy environment .

You will ideally have

• Previous administration, coordination or office-based experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• The confidence to communicate with colleagues across different departments.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering or operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
