We are recruiting experienced General Managers for a leading organisation within the wellness, leisure, and fitness sector. These roles offer the opportunity to shape the member experience, lead high-performing teams, and oversee the day-to-day operations of modern, multi-purpose clubs. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of club performance, ensuring strong commercial results, exceptional service standards, and a safe, engaging environment for members and your team. This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who can inspire teams, build strong member relationships, and create a positive, dynamic culture.
The Role
- Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team to deliver an excellent member experience.
- Take full ownership of the club’s commercial performance, driving membership growth, retention, and revenue.
- Ensure operational standards are consistently met across all areas of the club.
- Manage budgets, P&L, and operational KPIs to ensure efficient and profitable club performance.
- Oversee health & safety, compliance, and safeguarding standards, maintaining a safe environment for all.
- Foster a culture focused on wellbeing, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and ensuring service standards exceed expectations.
- Work collaboratively with central support teams to implement new initiatives and support club improvements.
Experience Required
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Club Manager, or Senior Operations Manager within hospitality, leisure, or fitness.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
- Proven commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, KPIs, and P&L.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences within a service-led environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence working in a fast-paced, people-focused setting.
