We’re looking for a PR Account Manager to join our vibrant agency, heading up PR & communication briefs across a number of diverse and rewarding client accounts. You’ll be a confident, ambitious and empathetic team member, skilled at working at pace and with agility across multiple clients and disciplines. You’ll have sharp media relations skills, commercial acumen, proven experience through tangible results, and a demonstrable ability to deliver highly creative campaigns for clients with superb return on investment.

This is a fantastic role for a skilled PR Account Manager with solid agency experience, looking to take their next career step. The role is based in Poole, Dorset, and benefits from hybrid working (50% office based) after a qualifying period. However, we welcome applications from outstanding candidates who are based outside of Dorset, as flexibility on working model may be possible for the right person. The role requires regular travel (mainly south of England) to client locations.

Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in PR across B2B and B2C, ideally within agency setting, including 2 years’ experience at AM level
  • The ability to confidently manage multiple client accounts and challenging briefs
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate effectively with large and diverse groups of people
  • Proven media relations success on a regional and national level
  • Strong strategic skills and a sound understanding of all elements of tactical delivery
  • Flawless writing skills, with the ability to write persuasive, compelling copy for different sectors and audiences
  • Strong team ethos and proven experience in developing talent through line management
  • Clear understanding of commercials, return on investment, and client account profitability
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement desirable

Major Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Build strong relationships with the media on behalf of your clients and for the benefit of the business
  • Ability to identify a newsworthy story
  • Research, write and distribute press releases, features, blogs and comment pieces
  • Write copy for websites and marketing collateral
  • Co‑ordinate press interviews and brief clients
  • Understand client business and develop plans and strategies that support individual business objectives
  • Regular reporting to clients
  • Work with members of the LLPR team to discover any joint opportunities for clients
  • Manage client advertising schedules as and when required
  • Source relevant networking opportunities as and when required for clients
  • Ensure press coverage is monitored and distributed to the client
  • Ensure that photographic opportunities are maximised to the benefit of the client
  • Work closely with clients to generate brand awareness across social media
  • Set up and manage client social media feeds as and when required
  • Co‑ordinate, manage and attend events
  • New Business: Provide input and support with writing new business proposals
  • Team Management: Assist in managing workloads of junior team
  • Review workloads and assist in the development of junior team skills

Position Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in an agency environment, 2 of which at AM level
  • Previous experience of managing a junior team is desirable
  • Previous experience of managing own accounts
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data to determine client needs and improve future effectiveness
  • Proven ability to drive results and manage a range of projects and activities
  • Education: Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or Journalism is desirable
  • Personal Characteristics: Ambition and tenacity to achieve outstanding results
  • Warm, friendly, approachable and personable
  • Flexibility, determination, enthusiasm and the ability to cope well under pressure
  • Ability to see the big picture while retaining an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and adept at prioritising and juggling a variety of tasks
