Independent Committee Member – Homes Committee
Location: Prescot, Liverpool City Region
Remuneration: £4,500 per annum
Time Commitment: Approximately one day per month
We’re looking for an Independent Committee Member to join our Homes Committee and help shape how we invest in homes, neighbourhoods and future communities. We own and manage around 13,000 homes across Liverpool City Region and the North West, providing safe, warm homes for 28,000 customers. But we are much more than a landlord. We work alongside customers, local communities and partners to create places where people can flourish, access support, and build better opportunities for themselves and their families. Our purpose is clear: to unlock potential and give people and communities opportunities to flourish.
Our Homes Committee plays a key role in scrutinising investment, development, regeneration and asset decisions. It helps ensure our homes are safe, well maintained, financially sustainable and aligned to what our customers and communities need now and in the future. This is a great opportunity to bring specialist expertise into an organisation with real ambition. We have launched our new Corporate Plan, Building a better future, alongside our Development and Regeneration Strategy and Asset Strategy. Our plans include delivering new affordable homes, continuing to invest in existing homes, and using data and customer insight to guide long-term investment decisions.
We have recently received our latest regulatory judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing, confirming a C1 consumer grading, G2 governance grading and V2 financial viability grading. We are proud of our C1 consumer grading, which recognises the strength of our customer services and our commitment to listening to customers and putting their needs at the centre of service delivery and investment decisions. We are also clear about the improvement journey ahead. We are strengthening governance, assurance and financial resilience, and our Homes Committee will play a key role in ensuring decisions are robust, evidence-led and focused on long-term value for customers.
We have strong momentum. Over our previous Corporate Plan period, we spent £58m on repairs and maintenance, built 829 new homes, invested £107M in improving existing homes, delivered more than 121,000 compliance safety visits, and achieved 95.57% of homes at EPC C or above.
