We require an SAP to join our business due to continued growth. As a Senior Authorised Person (High Voltage), you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high voltage systems. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of high voltage switching operations, issuing safety documentation, testing, as well as providing technical expertise and guidance to our team members.

You will be expected to work well on your own initiative and as part of a team. With a proactive outlook and ability to work safely at all times, successful candidates will also possess effective communication skills with the ability to communicate verbally with colleagues and client representatives, providing a professional service that meets our clients’ requirements.

Successful candidates will be working across a mixture of sectors including renewables, banking, commercial office, industrial sectors and should have at least 3 years’ previous experience in this area. Applicants must have ECS/CSCS card and hold full electrical qualifications. Knowledge of testing and inspecting is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate high voltage switching operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Perform high voltage switching operations as required, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment at all times.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members, supporting their professional development and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work procedures for high voltage activities, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, to ensure the reliability and integrity of high voltage systems.
  • Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and contractors, regarding high voltage operations and compliance matters.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Senior Authorised Person (High Voltage) in a similar role.
  • Valid Senior Authorised Person (SAP) certification for high voltage switching operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of high voltage systems, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience supervising and mentoring junior team members.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field (preferred).
Essential Requirements Include:
  • Valid ECS Grade Card
  • Recognised Apprenticeship / Electrician SVQ Level 3
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Previous experience working within commercial projects / minimum 3 years qualified experience.

Wages and allowances are aligned to experience. Permanent role - 37.5 hours per week. Immediate start.
