Community Care Resources provides person‑centred services to adults with care needs through Day Care, Care at Home and Residential Services in the Shetland Islands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals in a variety of settings.
  • Ensure that individuals receive high standards of care and support to maximise their independence and dignity.
  • Support people with varying abilities and complex needs to achieve their goals, priorities and personal outcomes.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver the highest quality of care, including intimate personal care, development of daily living skills, training, social activities and other meaningful activities in accordance with individual needs and wishes, while supporting individuals to avoid danger and harm wherever possible.
  • Demonstrate the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) core values: Respect, Collaboration, Participation, Dignity and Empowerment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required for the role.
  • Completion of registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting the post.
  • Participation in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or completion of a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer.
  • Preferred candidates will have a history of delivering person‑centred care and demonstrate the values of compassion, respect, empathy and integrity.
  • No UK visa sponsorship is available for this role.

  • Rate of pay includes the Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
  • Temporary part‑time post of 24 hours per week for 52.18 weeks per year.
  • Temporary contract for approximately 10 months, covering maternity leave; the contract terminates following the return to work or resignation of the postholder.
  • No relocation package applies to this post.
  • Interview expenses will be reimbursed by the council.
