The purpose of this post is to work effectively as a member of an Early Learning and Childcare team to support the delivery of a high quality, safe and balanced education and care service that meets the needs of each young child and their families in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

About Bell's Brae Primary School: Bell's Brae Primary School is a non‑denominational school located in central Lerwick. It comprises a Primary, an Early Learning and Childcare Setting and an ASN department. The school serves a catchment area from Frakkafield encompassing the majority of Lerwick, excluding Sound, and currently has a total of 300 pupils on the roll. The institution is managed by Mrs Julia McGinlay, Head Teacher, and three Deputy Head Teachers.

Job Information: The grade of this post is E or F. This post is NOT career graded; salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Rate of pay includes a Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour. Temporary part‑time post: 35.0 hours per week, 40.5 weeks per year plus 6.48 weeks prorated holiday taken during school holidays. Temporary contract for a period of approximately 12 months.

Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or update their PVG Scheme status prior to a formal offer of employment. The successful candidate will register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post. No relocation package applies to this post. Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland. Flexible working arrangements are possible.
