We provide person‑centred services to adults with identified care needs through Day Care, Care at Home and Residential Services.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in a variety of settings.
- Ensure high standards of care to maximise independence and dignity.
- Support people with varying abilities and complex needs to achieve their goals and personal outcomes.
- Work as part of a team, including intimate personal care, developing daily living skills, training, social activities and other meaningful activities in accordance with individual needs and wishes, while supporting individuals to avoid danger and harm.
- Demonstrate the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) core values of respect, collaboration, participation, dignity and empowerment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice; a full driving licence is highly desirable and may be essential.
- Preferred candidates must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or provide an update prior to offer.
- Candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting employment.
- Grade of the post: G/H.
- Rate of pay includes Distant Islands allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
- Permanent full‑time (up to 37 hours per week) and part‑time posts available (52.18 weeks per year).
- No relocation package is offered for this post.
- Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland.
- Ability to travel in Shetland where public transport is limited.
