Ensure that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance. Provide person‑centred support and maintain a positive ethos that promotes the individual’s independence within their personal capabilities and outcomes. Assist with all tasks associated with managing, delivery and development of the service, including the supervision, coaching and development of staff, and actively participate in the provision and facilitation of person‑centred planning to support outcomes.

The purpose of the role is to support the health and wellbeing of individuals who use the service, with a quality assurance role in relation to the quality of care provided and the implementation and monitoring of service development initiatives under the direction of Team Leaders.

  • Grade: J
  • Not career graded; preference will be given to qualified candidates.
  • Rate of pay inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
  • 1 x Permanent Part‑Time post for 35.0 hours per week (52.18 weeks per year).
  • 2 x Temporary Part‑Time posts for 35.0 hours per week (52.18 weeks per year). Temporary contract for approximately 12 months, for the duration of maternity leave, terminating following the return to work or resignation of the postholder.
  • Preferred candidates required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or update their PVG Scheme prior to formal offer.
  • Successful candidate must complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when beginning in post.
  • Relocation package does not apply to this post.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Shetland at short notice; public transport is limited.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
