Senior Social Care Workers - Supervisors are responsible for providing direct support to individuals in a variety of settings, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and supporting individuals to live well through their strengths, skills, community and personal gifts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering person-centred support in line with legislation and national guidance.
- Maintaining a positive ethos that promotes the individual’s independence within their personal capabilities and outcomes.
- Ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support.
- Providing direct support to individuals across a range of settings.
Additional information and requirements:
- The grade of the post is J. This post is not career graded.
- The rate of pay is inclusive of a Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
- Permanent full and part‑time posts available, 52.18 weeks per year.
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to formally joining.
- Candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting the post.
- No relocation package applies.
- Interview expenses will be paid within Shetland.
- Candidate must have ability to travel throughout Shetland on short notice, where public transport is limited.
- Flexible working arrangements are available.
