The Play Support Worker will assist in the delivery of a quality childcare service that offers children care, play and learning opportunities in a safe and stimulating environment. This post is a temporary part‑time position for an annualised 12.16 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year (8.4 hpw in term time and 14 hpw in school holidays) and is expected to be held on a temporary contract for approximately 2 years.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of a quality childcare service that offers children care, play and learning opportunities.
- Support the Manager/Play Practitioners in ensuring a safe, hygienic and pleasant environment where mutual trust, respect, confidence and a caring ethos are evident.
- Act in accordance with current legislation, including the Roles and Responsibilities Framework of the Scottish Social Service Council for the Childcare Workforce.
Qualifications & Requirements
- The successful candidate must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or update their PVG Scheme prior to a formal offer of employment.
- The successful candidate must complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post.
- The grade of the post is E.

- Rate of pay includes a Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
