Responsibilities
- Lead the Broad Service Portfolio including Finance, Human Resources, Transformation, Climate Change & Waste, Asset and Property Management Services.
- Represent the Council externally to promote the best interests of Shetland Islands and shape policy decisions that affect the community.
- Support and deputise for the Chief Executive as required.
- Model organisational values and promote a One Council approach.
- Lead, motivate, inspire and develop staff; foster excellent relationships with elected members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (Section 95 Officer required).
- Strong leadership and management attributes; ability to lead, motivate, inspire.
- Values‑led leader with visibility and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills and professional presence.
Additional Information
- Grade: CO 34 - 36.
- Length: Permanent Full Time, 37.0 Hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year.
- Relocation package applies.
- Interview expenses paid within UK.
- Must be able to travel across Shetland at short notice; limited public transport.
- Flexible working arrangements possible.
