The Youth Worker’s role is to contribute to the delivery of youth work opportunities in a variety of settings, including youth clubs and in collaboration with schools and other agencies. Youth Workers report to a Youth Development Worker and work closely with other youth work staff and volunteers to maximise opportunities for young people to access social, personal development and learning opportunities.
- Burra Youth Club – 3 hours per week
- Wastside (Bixter) Youth Club – 2.5 hours per week
- Whitedale Youth Club – 4 hours per week
- Livister (Whalsay) Youth Club – 2 × 4.5 hours per week
- Cunningsburgh Youth Club – 4 hours per week
- Unst Youth Club – Seniors – 2 × 2.5 hours per week
- Unst Youth Club – Juniors – 2 × 2.25 hours per week
- The grade of this post is E.
- Rate of pay shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour.
- Various permanent contracts, part‑time posts working over various weeks per year.
- Preferred candidates must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
- A relocation package does not apply to this post.
