The purpose of the support worker post is to actively promote person‑centred support and learning for young people who are not in employment, education or training. The project targets school winter leavers or those who have left school, offering them more choices and opportunities for future education or employment. These young people often lead chaotic lifestyles.

- Grade: H
- Rate of pay includes Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour
- Permanent part‑time: 18.5 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year
- Preferred candidates must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or complete a PVG update prior to offer
- This vacancy does not meet Home Office rules for UK visa sponsorship – apply only if you do not require sponsorship
- No relocation package applies
- Interview expenses from within Shetland will be reimbursed
- Ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice is required
