The predicted salary is between 12000 - 14000 Β£ per year.

The postholder will be based in the school office and will be managed by the Head Teacher. The postholder will assist the Head Teacher with a variety of administrative and clerical duties and supervise an employed trainee.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide switchboard and reception duties, being the first point of contact at the school, dealing with enquiries from staff, pupils, parents, outside agencies and the general public.
  • Log and sort mail and prepare mail for posting.
  • Assist with record keeping and processing of all types of financial transactions, including purchase orders, invoices and journals, and day-to-day administration and banking of school meals money, the school fund and petty cash.

Additional Information:

  • Grade of the post is F.
  • Rate of pay includes a distant islands allowance of Β£1.4808 per hour.
  • Permanent part-time post: 5.0 hours per week, 40 weeks per year plus 6.4 pro-rata weeks paid holiday taken during school holidays.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update.
  • No relocation package.
  • Interview expenses will be paid within Shetland.
  • Flexible working arrangements possible.
