Responsibilities
- Accurately code and summarise patient clinical documentation in line with agreed protocols, including summarising Lloyd George records.
- Manage and prioritise urgent coding and summarisation requests in accordance with agreed timescales and service priorities.
- Process inbound correspondence (electronic and paper) promptly and attach it to patient records.
- Assign actions or tasks to clinicians or teams as required.
- Process pathology results and new patient registration documentation.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across EMIS, Anima, and other clinical systems, demonstrating low error rates in line with audit and quality standards.
- Code complex or ambiguous clinical documentation requiring professional judgement.
- Take ownership of escalated coding or workflow issues and resolve them effectively.
- Liaise with clinical teams to clarify documentation or coding queries
Qualifications
- Good standard of general education.
- Relevant clinical or administrative training.
- Commitment to mandatory and role‑related training.
- Confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Health and safety in a healthcare setting.
- Clinical systems (Emis, Anima), appropriate to role level.
- Administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Experience handling clinical documentation and digital systems.
