Living Waters is recruiting an experienced Children's Home Team Leader to help manage the day-to-day running of a safe and supportive residential home.

The role includes leading staff on shift, supporting children and young people, maintaining high safeguarding and care standards, and helping each young person achieve positive outcomes.

  • KEY DUTIES
  • Have a consistent presence in the home including sleep in / live in shifts if required
  • Make sure the house is functioning according to the rules and regulations of Ofsted and the company policy
  • Hold meetings with staff and professionals
  • Be a mentor and coach for support workers and encourage professional development
  • Health and safety checks, fire risk assessments, Environmental assessments, support plan and weekly reports
  • Build positive professional relationships with the children, young people or young adults in the home
  • Help shadow new staff members
  • Do monthly supervisions for staff
  • Make sure forms and paperwork of service users are up to date
  • Always ensure you are compliant with the safeguarding policies
  • Ensure duties are carried out promptly
  • Be the point of communication between the management and staff
  • Have oversight of documentation on Clear Care, ensure they are all present and correct, if not, amend them to ensure that they are all accurate and accounted for
  • Attend meetings with professionals
  • Conduct weekly team meetings
  • Make sure that your team knows what they are doing and always offer appropriate help when needed
  • Know your staff handbook in and out as it is the code of conduct, know what you are supposed to do and not to do
  • Contribute towards a healthy working culture of safety, openness and clear expectations
  • Create Rota's for staff
  • KEY SKILLS
  • NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience working with children, young people and/or young adults.
  • Good communication skills .
  • Passion and desire to help and bring change.
  • Ability to lead, control and take stand when appropriate.
