42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)

As part of our skilled workforce, our roofers play a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of homes – carrying out everything from tile replacements and felt repairs to chimney works and emergency callouts. Duties
- Carry out general roofing repairs across occupied and void properties
- Replace roof tiles, felt roofing, wooden battens, and associated components
- Complete chimney repairs and replacements
- Install and repair flat roofing systems, including felt and asphalt
- Undertake leadwork such as flashings, soakers, and valley gutters
- Repair and install ridge, verge, and hip tiles
- Carry out guttering and downpipe repairs and replacements
- Install and maintain fascias, soffits, and barge boards
- Complete roof insulation works to joists and rafters
- Install and repair roof vents, eaves ventilation, and ducting
- Respond to emergency call‑outs, making properties safe following storm damage or leaks
- Identify roofing defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions
- Work with reclaimed roofing materials where required
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in line with Health & Safety regulations
- Accurately record materials used and time spent on jobs
- Liaise with tenants and site supervisors to ensure clear communication and minimal disruption
- Support planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes
- Ensure compliance with the Decent Homes Standard and relevant regulations
Role Criteria
- Proven experience carrying out roofing works within social housing, across occupied and void properties
- Competent in tiling, felt roofing, wooden battens, and flat roofing systems (felt and asphalt)
- Experience completing chimney repairs, leadwork (flashings, soakers, valley gutters), and ridge, verge, and hip tile works
- Skilled in guttering, downpipes, fascias, soffits, and barge boards
- Knowledge of roof insulation, ventilation systems, rooflights, and skylights
- Experience responding to emergency repairs, including storm damage and leaks
- Strong ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and working to high quality standards
- Familiarity with Decent Homes Standard and relevant housing regulations
- Able to accurately record materials used and time spent on jobs
- Confident liaising with tenants and supervisors to minimise disruption
- Experience supporting planned maintenance and refurbishment works
- Full UK driving licence
