Multi Skilled Operative(Kitchens and Bathrooms)
Location – Caerphilly
Contract Type – Full Time, Permanent; 08:00-16:30, with the requirement of an out of hours rota
Salary – £33,019.00 per annum, plus Company Vehicle & Fuel card, enhanced hourly rate when on call plus great company benefits.

Celtic Horizons was the first wholly owned subsidiary of its kind formed by United Welsh who have entered into a partnership with Mears Group. Celtic Horizons care for over 6500 properties spanning over 11 local authority areas in South Wales.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our Kitchen and Bathroom team, working on Kitchen and Bathroom installations. Ensuring our clients receive high levels of service and satisfaction.
With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to improving social housing standards, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that’s making a real difference in the community. We’re looking for someone reliable, skilled across multiple trades, and passionate about getting the job done right the first time.
Duties:
- Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
- Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues at point of installation
- Completing wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
- Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair works
- Ensuring all installations and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Working in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacy
- Participating in out-of-hours emergency repair rota once a month
- Reporting any further works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond scope
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents\’ homes
- Accurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
- Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets
Key Criteria:
- Extensive “on the job” Kitchen and Bathroom experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage workload effectively
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
- Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work
- Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
- Ideally previous domestic, social housing experience
- A qualification in a core trade, NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds equivalent would be an advantage but not essential
