Plasterer Apprenticeship – Location: Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire
Contract Type: Fixed Term Apprenticeship
Salary: Offering the nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, plus excellent company benefits. (You will be paid for your normal working hours plus your attendance at college)

What does a life as Plasterer look like:
Plastering is a core function within the construction sector especially in house building and refurbishments. As a plasterer you will have to learn about all the different products and understand how to manage a job which will be different depending on the materials you are using. You will be responsible for mixing and applying different kinds of plaster to inside walls and ceilings, working with dry lining, and putting protective coverings onto external walls such as pebble dashing to protect and waterproof buildings. Roles in plastering are physical in nature and may involve lifting and moving of equipment, working at height and will involve working inside and outside.
The apprenticeship course will cover the following:
- Develop and maintain good working relations
- Conform to Workplace health safety and welfare
- Apply solid plaster to various backgrounds
- Apply solid plaster to complex surfaces
- Produce complex external rendering finishes
- Install Mechanically fixed plasterboard
What do you need to be a successful applicant:
- Have the potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
- The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
- Candidates will undertake a pre-employment assessment
- You must live within a North Lanarkshire postcode and be able to independently travel to and from the branch

Mears Careers National Apprenticeship Scheme is designed to empower and challenge you; you will be trusted with real work and responsibility from the outset. During your apprenticeship you will have a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn and will receive formal training coupled with working alongside our skilled workforce who will inspire and train you in the practical elements of the trade. The Plastering apprenticeship programme will take 4 years to complete.
