Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Retrofit Designer to join our team and play a key role in developing whole-house retrofit solutions in line with PAS 2035 standards. Working closely with Retrofit Coordinators, Assessors, and Project Managers, you’ll be responsible for producing design specifications that drive energy efficiency and carbon reduction in domestic properties.
Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality retrofit design plans in accordance with PAS 2035, PAS 2030 and TrustMark requirements
- Review assessment reports and recommend appropriate energy efficiency measures
- Create technical specifications, U-value calculations, and design drawings for installation teams
- Collaborate with Retrofit Coordinators to develop accurate and deliverable plans for each project
- Liaise with internal delivery teams and external contractors to ensure design intent is maintained
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, funding requirements, and best practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design templates, processes, and delivery models
- Stay up to date with developments in retrofit technologies, materials, and design standards
Requirements:
- Experience in retrofit design, architecture, surveying, or similar technical field
- Good understanding of PAS 2035 and whole-house retrofit principles
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 5 Retrofit Designer or working towards it)
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Knowledge of building physics, insulation types, ventilation strategies, and moisture risk
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- A practical mindset with the ability to problem-solve on real-world sites
