As a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop your skills in asbestos surveying, reporting, and safety compliance. You will be supported every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct refurbishment, demolition, and management asbestos surveys under supervision.
- Produce asbestos survey reports in line with HSG 264 standards.
- Assist with asbestos sampling and emergency response situations.
- Update asset management systems with accurate stock data.
- Support the preparation of reports, statistics, and resident communications.
- Attend resident meetings and ensure effective consultation.
- Identify and manage risks to maintain safe, well-kept properties.
- Represent LiveWest professionally in all external interactions.

This role is being offered on a full time, 12 month fixed term basis, working 37 hours per week. This is a field based role in the Devon area.

About The Candidate
htmlRole Requirements – Trainee Asbestos Surveyor
- Experience of undertaking on site Asbestos Inspections for at least six months previously.
- BOHS P402.
- Experience of undertaking property inspections working on a similar level within an RSL, local or public authority, or private practice.
- Domestic dwelling inspection experience from a technical perspective, demonstrating significant understanding of the built environment.
- Clear and demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety and Asbestos legislation pertaining to the construction industry including HHSRS.
- Desirable: Practical experience of working in the construction industry and/or in the social housing sector.
- Desirable: Full understanding of the Decent Homes Standard as well as the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
