About The Role

Do you enjoy doing DIY around the house? Are you looking for a career change in a growing and forward‑thinking organisation? If so, we really want to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity to learn all the skills required to become a qualified tradesperson within our Inhouse Maintenance Service (IMS) team. You will be based in and around the Torquay/ Newton Abbott area, and the successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of this location. You will have an interest in plumbing, carpentry, or kitchen and bathroom fitting and you will undertake an apprenticeship in Property Maintenance. You will be buddy‑ed up with various mentors who have a wealth of experience in a multitude of core trades. On a day‑to‑day basis, you will learn how to carry out regular maintenance jobs in our customers' homes, while working across several teams and locations. No two days will be the same.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about doing a good job, delivering world‑class customer service, and who are willing to continually learn. Our Apprenticeship programme is a great way to start your career in a trade, learn on the job and gain a qualification, and the great news is you can be any age (16‑65). We may also be able to offer part‑time and flexible working – a minimum of 30 hours per week will be required for the apprenticeship. You will need to travel to meet your mentor each day, either to a LiveWest office or at a pre‑agreed meeting point; you will be reimbursed for your travel expenses. PLEASE NOTE: a full UK manual‑driving licence will be essential for your future employment, so if you do not already have one, you will need to obtain it by the end of the apprenticeship period. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups, and expect all colleagues to share this commitment. Appointment to the post will be subject to a satisfactory basic check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
