In this critical position, you will conduct property surveys, assessing and reporting on building conditions both internally and externally. Your expertise will drive improvements in housing standards, safety and energy efficiency, shaping the future of sustainable housing in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct stock condition surveys to meet regulatory standards, including Decent Homes and HHSRS.
  • Assess energy efficiency, helping achieve environmental targets through recommendations in line with PAS2035.
  • Identify and manage risks, including hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to devise solutions for property condition issues.
  • Maintain records using our stock condition database and support quality assurance.

Employment Details

This role is being offered on full time, permanent. This is a field‑based role covering the Somerset area. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups. Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.

About the Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Property Condition Surveyor and DEA, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role and the following role‑specific skills and experience:

  • Experience in building surveying or construction management, ideally within a social housing setting.
  • Knowledge of domestic building pathology and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
  • HNC, NVQ or equivalent qualifications in a property‑related field.
  • PAS 2035 or DEA accreditation, or a willingness to work towards.
  • Full UK driving licence, and access to a suitable vehicle.

Please note: This role is not eligible for a CoS. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring a CoS.
