About The Role
Are you a skilled Lead Technician looking to make a difference in your community? Join LiveWest, the largest housing association in the South West, and help us provide high-quality homes and services to our customers. As a Lead Technician, you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting a team of Multi Skilled Technicians (MSTs) or Roofers, ensuring they deliver effective and efficient installation, repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment services. This role is a mobile role, working predominantly in Tolvaddon area. You will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of this patch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: Support the Property Delivery Team Manager in promoting health, safety, and welfare within the team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for the team in the absence of the Property Delivery Team Manager, providing technical advice and support.
- Customer Service: Assist in resolving customer complaints, maintaining good relationships with customers, external partners, contractors, and internal colleagues.
- Quality Control: Conduct pre, ongoing, and post-work inspections to ensure high-quality standards are met by both the internal maintenance team and contracting partners.
- Fleet Management: Inspect and audit MSTβs/Roofers' vehicles to ensure they are maintained and used correctly and safely.
- Business Support: Assist operational colleagues in resolving difficult problems and support cross-team working to build an ethos of βone team, one purpose.β

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Lead Technician, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level one role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in providing technical advice and support to a remote mobile working team in construction and maintenance operations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality housing/construction maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment.
- Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements in construction and maintenance activities.
- IT Skills: Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology.
- Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
Qualifications Required:
- Apprenticeship or qualification in a core trade and/or qualified by experience.
- Health and safety training (CITB SSSTS, IOSH or equivalent).
