About The Role

Are you a proactive and commercially minded finance professional looking to make a real impact? As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in supporting designated areas of the business, helping managers make informed financial decisions and ensuring budgets are effectively planned and managed. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide clear, accurate financial insight that supports the organisation’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with business managers to develop robust revenue and capital budgets and ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Provide advice on expenditure, identifying opportunities for cost improvements and efficiencies.
  • Produce and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all costs are correctly allocated.
  • Support monthly forecasting processes, including variance analysis across income, expenditure and balance sheets.
  • Deliver clear financial reports and insights for budget holders, senior managers and Board reporting.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to provide meaningful financial analysis.
  • Contribute to projects and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Finance Business Partner, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role and the following role specific skills and experience.

Essential skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships across teams.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience.

Desirable skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications

  • Experience of working in a business partnering role.
  • Experience of contributing to financial systems or process improvements.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
