Are you ready to shape the future of enterprise applications in a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation? We are seeking an experienced and visionary Applications Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of our Salesforce and Mulesoft platforms as we transform our applications architecture to deliver lasting, agile business value. In this pivotal role, you will lead a talented Applications Engineering team responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving solutions across our Salesforce ecosystem – including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Services, Experience Cloud, and Service Cloud Voice. You will oversee the development and delivery of robust integrations between these solutions and our legacy systems using Mulesoft, ensuring a seamless and scalable application landscape. You will bring a deep understanding of Salesforce-based solution delivery and systems integration, with a track record of managing high-performing engineering teams in an agile environment. More than just a technical expert, you will be an enthusiastic innovator with a passion for creating exceptional digital experiences that support long-term transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver innovative solutions to business problems with Salesforce and Mulesoft.
  • Manage the Applications Engineer team and key delivery partners to deliver the strategic applications programme on time, to quality and to budget.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, ensuring they meet solution delivery expectations through the provision of clear technical specifications matching organisational needs, and monitor progress for timely completion.
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture strategy across multiple technology platforms.
  • Build project and resource plans and maintain a delivery roadmap for strategic application projects reporting at regular intervals against these.
  • Report on and manage any risks arising for delivery taking appropriate action to mitigate or minimise the risk maintaining a log for reporting/review escalating anything urgent.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in an organisation committed to continuous improvement, where technology is at the heart of this. If you are ready to lead with vision, deliver with precision, and inspire with passion – we want to hear from you. This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. Hybrid working is available for this role working 2 - 3 days per week in the Exeter, Tolvaddon or Weston-super-Mare office, dependent on business need.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of delivering solutions using Salesforce and Mulesoft.
  • Extensive experience of application customisation/development along with the management/governance of this.
  • Extensive experience of systems change management processes and principles.
  • Experience of project and resource management according to Agile principles.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team in a fast-paced and dynamic IT environment.
  • Experience creating detailed plans, procedures and policies.
  • Experience of Microsoft technologies and cloud services including Azure and M365 Power Platform.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring sponsorship.

Our Reward and Benefits:

  • Hybrid working with 2 - 3 days in the office to support your work/life balance.
  • Generous Annual Leave: Start with 26 days, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with length of service - and the option to purchase up to 5 extra days (pro rated for part time roles).
  • Pension Contributions: Enjoy up to 9% employer contributions with our Defined Contribution scheme.
  • Health Benefits and Perks: Access to a health care cash plan (worth up to £1,100 annually), virtual GP services, discounted gym memberships, and retail discounts including access to a Blue Light Card.
  • Learning and Development: Invest in your future with ongoing personal and professional growth opportunities.
  • Family Support: Policies designed to help you balance work and family life, including a new child payment.
  • Wellbeing Matters: Priorities your health with mental health support, enhanced sick pay, wellness campaigns, and free flu jabs.
