About The Role
Are you ready to step into a pivotal role that ensures contractor performance, compliance, and value for money across our minor projects? This secondment offers a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience, work cross-functionally, and make a real impact on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors are awarded work in line with agreements and deliver value for money.
- Issue work orders aligned with contract terms and ensure accurate pricing and valid POs.
- Monitor contractor performance using KPIs and contribute to review meetings.
- Conduct site visits, agree specifications, inspect completed works, and maintain job records.
- Collaborate with Repairs, Surveyors, and Customer Services to ensure fit-for-purpose specifications.
- Share contractor performance insights including customer satisfaction and complaint handling.
- Support Service Improvement by resolving customer issues and driving lessons learned.
- Ensure contractor compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Review and validate RAMS to ensure safe working practices.
- Work closely with internal teams including Finance, Procurement, Housing, and Customer Services.

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Contracts Manager – Minor Projects, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Trade or building knowledge.
- Knowledge of CDM and Health and Safety legislation.
- Knowledge of social housing repairs service and engagement of approved contractors.
- Ability to manage contractors providing a repairs service to domestic properties.
- IT Literate with experience of repair management systems and MS Office.
- Evidence of managing performance standards that enable successful achievement of the business plans and objectives.
- Good people skills with the ability to promote us to a range of individuals facilitating strong internal and external relationships.
- Delivery of customer led services and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Display a good standard of personal resilience and integrity.
- Able to work under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.
- Committed to a high level and quality customer service.
- Desirable: Good commercial awareness and negotiating skills with a full understanding of financial reports and MS Excel.
Qualifications
- CDM or Health and Safety legislation qualifications.
