Freelance Miniatures Designer - Digital Non-organic / CAD

Warlord Games is looking for freelance digital designers to create hard-surface miniatures and components for our ranges.

This role is focused on non-organic and hard-surface design: vehicles, weapons, artillery, equipment, mechanical parts, terrain components, armour, machinery and engineered objects. We are looking for designers who can combine visual design, technical accuracy and production discipline.

What we need

We are looking for freelancers who can:

Create hard-surface digital models to agreed briefs.

Work from approved Product Definitions, Creative Briefs, historical references, technical references, faction guides and product requirements.

Design vehicles, weapons, machinery, armour, accessories, terrain components and related parts.

Produce clean, practical files suitable for review, 3D printing, tooling, casting or manufacture.

Understand scale, wall thickness, printability, part separation, undercuts, tolerances and file preparation.

Ensure models are correctly scaled, split, keyed, checked, named and handed over.

Respond constructively to creative and production feedback.

Maintain consistency with existing ranges, factions, kits and visual language.

Behaviour matters

This work needs more than software skill.

We need freelancers who can read a brief properly, understand the purpose of the product, work to constraints, and communicate before problems become expensive. If something will not print, cast, assemble or read correctly at scale, we expect you to flag it early and suggest practical solutions.

The best freelancers do not just produce files. They help us get to usable product.

How to apply

Please send:

A portfolio showing hard-surface modelling, CAD design, vehicles, weapons, mechanical design, miniatures, model kits or related work.

Examples of production-ready or printable work if available.

A short summary of your software and workflow.

Your availability and usual freelance rates.

A letter explaining why you want to work with Warlord Games in this role.

Applications must include a letter explaining why you want this job.

Applications without a letter will not be processed.
