We’re looking for an enthusiastic, confident and approachable Youth Worker who’s passionate about making a positive difference to young people to join the team at FireFit Youth & Community Hub in Liverpool. You’ll use creative arts, digital media and engaging activities to inspire young people, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, express themselves and raise their aspirations.
Working alongside our Lead Youth Workers and wider FireFit team, you’ll plan and deliver engaging, needs-led activities including dance, drama, art, digital content creation and other creative projects. You’ll build positive relationships with young people, encourage them to try new experiences and create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where they can thrive.
Working pattern:
You’ll work 1:45pm to 9:45pm Monday to Friday, plus 11:45am to 7:45pm every other Saturday. When you work a Saturday, you’ll receive a rest day the following week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Plan and deliver a varied programme of engaging creative activities for young people.
- Use creative arts and digital media to build young people’s confidence, skills and aspirations.
- Build positive relationships with young people through group activities and one-to-one support.
- Create session plans, organise equipment and identify opportunities for new activities.
- Encourage young people to get involved, try new experiences and engage positively with others.
- Involve young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of activities and programmes.
- Support youth voice activities and ensure young people have opportunities to share their ideas and feedback.
- Confidently manage groups, promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Monitor activities, maintain accurate records and complete incident, accident and safeguarding reports where required.
- Support the wider FireFit offer, including Creative and Chill zones.
- Promote the FireFit youth offer and help encourage membership, attendance and engagement.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and equality procedures at all times.
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience working with children and young people aged 8 to 18.
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people and encourage, motivate and support them.
- Confidence planning, supporting and delivering engaging activities and sessions, including working with groups and individuals.
- Confidence managing groups of young people and responding appropriately to challenging behaviour and conflict.
- A good understanding of young people’s development needs and the issues that are important to them.
- Experience and a good understanding of safeguarding when working with children, young people or vulnerable groups.
- An outgoing, enthusiastic and approachable personality, with good written and verbal communication skills.
- A motivated and resilient approach, with the ability to use your own initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
- A Level 2 Youth Work qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A First Aid at Work qualification would also be advantageous, or you’ll be willing to work towards this.
- An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
Interviews will take place at FireFit Youth & Community Hub on Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th November 2026. You’ll talk us through a session plan prepared in advance, with details provided beforehand, followed by a competency-based discussion and tour of the Hub.
