We’re looking for a new QC Technician to join our team in our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. In this role, you’ll carry out essential testing and quality control activities with accuracy and efficiency, helping to ensure the timely analysis and release of products supporting Production, Tablets, and Specials. Working to GLP guidelines, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the high standards of quality our operations depend on.
What you will be doing
You’ll carry out essential testing and quality control activities with accuracy and efficiency. Working to GLP guidelines, you'll help ensure timely analysis and release of products supporting Production, Tablets, and Specials including:
- Sampling & undertaking routine analysis of raw materials, tinctures, intermediates, herbs (including transfer) & finished products according to specifications supplied: including, but not limited to: ID/Characters, pH, Dry Residue, Loss on Drying, Total Ash, Refractive Index, Relative Density, Ethanol Content, TLC, HPLC, GC, Chemical tests, Assays etc.
- Release for filling/use certain bulks, intermediates, finished products etc.
- ID & release of fresh plants according to Ph. Eur., GHP, etc.
- Checking and signing off other Lab Technicians transcriptions & calculations
- Environmental Monitoring - swabbing, ACH’s, Particles counts, water testing
- Carry out & report stability studies and testing
- Validations – cleaning and new equipment
- Routine housekeeping & recording activities on cleaning log
- Maintaining a safe working environment
- Maintenance of QC’s internal PPM’s
- Review/updating specs, TRC’s, methods & SOP’s
- Re-order & replace gas cylinders when empty
- Participation in the company COSHH & risk assessments schemes
- Making sure stock levels of Lab reagents/material are maintained
- Attend and participate in meetings & training sessions
- Maintaining and keeping up to date training logs
- Provide training to new recruits and visitors
- Follow Out of Spec procedure
- Use & update of the company’s Lot management, bin location, and stock adjustment system (NAV)
What we are looking for
- No formal qualifications required but Maths & English 9-5 at GCSE
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask effectively
Preferred experience
- HPLC/GC knowledge
- Plant biology experience
- Ph. Eur. testing experience
