Fixed Term Contract until January 2028 - 15 hours per week
York Carers Centre is an independent charity supporting unpaid carers in York. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our friendly dedicated team, helping unpaid carers to maintain their health and wellbeing through opportunities to access movement and activity
The role will focus on supporting carers into movement and activity as a way of:

- reducing health inequalities faced by carers
- increasing carer’s involvement in regular physical activity to maximise their potential for long term health
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to support others; who are able to work within the boundaries of confidentiality and can work effectively and engage sensitively with a wide range of carers across all ages and those with specific needs.
If you are empathetic and compassionate with excellent communication and engagement skills, have experience of supporting people to access movement and activity, and have experience of working with volunteers, then we’d love to hear from you.
The role will involve flexible/hybrid working travelling to and working from a range of outreach venues in the York area.
In return we’ll offer you:
- The opportunity to make a notable contribution to our work in making a difference to the lives of carers in York
- A friendly supportive working environment
- Great flexible hybrid working options
- Learning and development opportunities
- Contributory pension scheme
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
