As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you’ll design and manage DevOps pipelines across PaaS-based Azure environments, embedding secure-by-design principles and meeting industry and government security standards. You’ll work closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver automated, secure, and scalable services, while supporting live and non-production platforms. The role includes 3rd-line support, break-fix and out-of-hours cover on a shift basis, platform optimisation, and providing hands-on technical support to development teams.
Responsibilities- Deploying, monitoring, maintaining and improving our Azure platform.
- Providing timely and efficient break-fix support to resolve system issues and minimise downtime in line with Service Level Agreements including out-of-hours.
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity, perform infrastructure as code optimisation to ensure cost efficiency and reliable service.
- Providing 3rd line support for live Azure Platform services, addressing complex issues and coordinating with internal teams to maintain service uptime.
- Delivering and supporting the customers’ infrastructure requirements for service enhancements and new projects.
- Leveraging deep expertise in Microsoft Azure’s IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions that align with business and technical needs.
- Designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with design partners, enabling faster, more reliable software releases.
- Implementing best practices for version control, continuous integration, and code review processes.
- Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform to provision and manage Azure cloud resources.
- Ensuring consistent, secure, and reproducible infrastructure deployments.
- Implementing security best practices and aligning infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, NCSC.
- Configuring real-time monitoring and alerting within Azure to gain insights into application performance and system health.
- Setting up proactive alerts to respond to any incidents and anomalies promptly.
- Fostering strong relationships with software development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
You may be required to undertake other duties assigned by your line manager as appropriate.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Extensive experience in Azure DevOps managing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure networking and zero trust methodologies primarily working in a live services support.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code principles and tools such as Terraform and Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and experience in provisioning and managing cloud resources.
- Understanding of security best practices for cloud environments, and ability to implement security best practices and align infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, NCSC.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and communicate technical concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience developing using JavaScript, C#.
This role will report to the Azure Engineering Manager and will sit within our Service department.
As an LI employee, you will be entitled to our company benefits which include a fully remote and flexible working set up, 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year of service up to a maximum of 30 days.
