We have vacancies for Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to join our team on Ward 4 at Aintree Hospital.

We are looking for experienced HCAs with an NVQ Level 3 to join our nursing team.

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the post holder will assist the Ward/Department team in providing the highest possible standard of care for patients and their families/carers. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated tasks and duties.

Responsibilities include:

1. Participating in all aspects of patient care, with particular attention to personal hygiene and grooming.
2. Provision of patients\’ toileting needs, ensuring privacy and dignity.
3. Supporting patients in managing incontinence and promoting continence.
4. Recording patients’ fluid intake and output using fluid balance charts.
5. Preparing and serving meals, drinks, and snacks to patients.
6. Assisting with feeding patients as necessary.
7. Recording patients’ dietary intake as indicated in their care plans.
8. Enabling patients to maintain or improve mobility through exercises and mobility aids.
9. Assisting in pressure sore prevention as directed by the registered nurse and in accordance with the patient\’s care plan.

Additional duties include:

• Carrying out safe movement and handling procedures based on mandatory training and patient handling plans.
• Obtaining specimens for tests.
• Removing cannulae, catheters, and nasogastric tubes.
• Undertaking dressing of non-complex wounds, in accordance with competencies and care plans.
• Preparing environments for clinical treatments and investigations.
