Research Services Directorate
Full-Time, Fixed-term appointment for six months in the first instance to 31st March 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Research Services Administrator to join our dynamic Research Services team at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). This is a vital role, supporting all activities across our directorate and contributing to the success of LSTM\'s research activities.

The Research Services Directorate supports the wider LSTM academic research community and oversees key functions including Pre-Award Research Support, Research Contracts, Research Data Management, and Research Ethics, Governance & Integrity (REGI). The Research Services Administrator will provide support across these functions, act as Secretary to the Intention to Submit Committee, support data quality activities, and facilitate record-keeping for the Directorate.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Act as Secretary to the fortnightly Intention to Submit Committee: scheduling meetings, coordinating and distributing papers, taking minutes, and following up on actions.
  2. Provide information to staff on Committee processes and documentation requirements.
  3. Maintain Committee documentation, intranet pages, and standard operating procedures.
  4. Work with subject matter experts to input and maintain grant application, contracts, and project data within relevant research management systems.
  5. Ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity of management information owned by Research Services.
  6. Serve as a point of contact for general enquiries and manage shared email inboxes.
  7. Contribute to updating and maintaining the Research Services intranet pages.
  8. Support the Director of Research Services\' diary, book travel and accommodation, and organise Research Services events.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be adaptable, and work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You should demonstrate:

  • GCSE level qualification (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Experience in a professional administrative role
  • Experience working with management information systems or databases
  • Experience organising meetings and preparing documents
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
