Overview

Procurement Partner at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Location: Liverpool. Hybrid working, 3 days per week on site. Full-time, FTC for 12 months.

This range is provided by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic procurement initiatives, including complex tendering exercises and category strategies, to deliver value for money and mitigate risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring high-quality delivery, compliance, and performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Develop and implement sustainable, responsible, and inclusive procurement practices across LSTM’s global supply chain.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff and suppliers to promote compliance and improve procurement skills.
  • Oversee eProcurement systems and processes to streamline purchasing, monitor compliance, and support efficient operations.
  • Analyse procurement data to inform decision-making, monitor performance, and support reporting to senior management and funders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including consortia and HE sector networks, to share best practice and maximise procurement opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring alignment with UK legislation and LSTM objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in strategic procurement and contract management
  • Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation
  • Track record of managing supplier relationships to deliver value for money
  • Experience with tendering and sourcing options
  • Ability to advise and support staff and suppliers
  • Commitment to sustainable and responsible procurement
