Location: Liverpool (Hybrid working). Full‑time, fixed‑term contract for 6 months to cover maternity leave. Salary: £39,906 - £46,049.

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our award‑winning Finance team, supporting our IT department with all procurement. This pivotal role will lead complex tendering exercises, manage supplier relationships, and develop category strategies that deliver best value across our diverse global supply chain. You will ensure compliance with UK procurement legislation, embed sustainability, and support colleagues across the organisation to deliver efficient, cost‑effective procurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic procurement initiatives, including complex tendering exercises and category strategies, to deliver value for money and mitigate risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring high‑quality delivery, compliance, and performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Develop and implement sustainable, responsible, and inclusive procurement practices across LSTM’s global supply chain.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and training to staff and suppliers to promote compliance and improve procurement skills.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including consortia and HE sector networks, to share best practice and maximise procurement opportunities.

Experience in strategic procurement and contract management, strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, a track record of managing supplier relationships to deliver value for money, experience with tendering and sourcing options, ability to advise and support staff and suppliers, and a commitment to sustainable and responsible procurement are required. Experience of procurement within the public sector is highly desirable.
