Position Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Education: Programme Lead for BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS at LJMU School of Education.
Responsibilities
- Lead the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS programme, providing academic oversight and curriculum development.
- Develop curriculum content and oversee academic standards, quality assurance, and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the planning, design, and development of modules and programmes, including adaptations to meet DfE‑mandated frameworks.
- Lead recruitment and admissions activities for the programme, supporting high‑quality student selection and retention.
- Engage in outreach and community activities to promote inclusion, widening participation and social mobility.
- Work closely with school partners, supporting and developing colleagues, and modelling professional behaviours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with QTS or PGCE (QTS) and a proven record of successful primary teaching.
- Experience teaching and leading at undergraduate level and above, or delivering equivalent professional training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to operate in a demanding academic and professional environment.
- Experience with internal and external auditing and inspection, and knowledge of DfE and OfS requirements.
- A commitment to evidence‑based teaching, real‑world research engagement, and the ability to inspire and collaborate for outstanding student outcomes.
