We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our School of Education as a Lecturer of Music, leading both secondary and primary music education mainly within the secondary ITE team.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, deliver and assess high‑quality teaching materials for secondary and primary music education.
- Contribute to the planning, design and development of modules and programmes, including curriculum changes and adaptations from DfE mandated frameworks.
- Lead the subject‑specialist curriculum provision for secondary and primary student teachers.
- Supervise practice‑based learning across a number of partner schools.
- Engage in evidence‑based teaching and real‑world research activity.
- Support the team to ensure provision is of a high standard and compliant with DfE and OfS requirements.
Qualifications
- Relevant undergraduate degree with QTS, or PGCE (QTS) with a track record of successful music teaching with secondary age students.
- Ability to plan and teach primary music education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment.
- Experience in a compliance‑heavy academic and professional setting, including internal and external auditing and inspection.
