The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to work on a two-year research programme on hydration and health. The successful candidate will work alongside Professor Neil Walsh and his team on an industry-funded research programme extending recently published work. Responsibilities

You will be expected to assist in all aspects of the programme of work, including study design; ethical approval; the day-to‑day running and administration of the research project; the implementation of interventions; assisting in the collection and interpretation of data; and the production of technical reports and manuscripts for publication.

Qualifications

You will hold a good honours degree (First or 2.1) in a relevant subject area (e.g., nutrition, human physiology, health psychology, exercise science). Experience of conducting high quality research is essential. A master’s postgraduate degree is desirable, as is experience of biological sample collection (e.g., venous blood), handling, storage (in accordance with GLP), biochemical analysis and an awareness of quality control techniques. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a continuously demanding workload.

Timeline

Anticipated interview date will likely take place the week commencing 13th April 2026. You will be expected to commence the post in June 2026.
