Project Overview
The School of Engineering and Built Environment seeks a post‑doctoral Research Fellow to work on a 24‑month research project funded by LEARN Logistics by Kuehne Foundation. The project aims to build capacity in higher education in Ethiopia and to establish regional universities as local powerhouses in research and teaching related to logistics and supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Carry out joint research projects with Ethiopian academics, guest lecture, develop academic‑practice engagement projects, conduct reciprocal research stays, review and revise curricula, and co‑supervise Ethiopian students.
- Establish new ties between LJMU and universities in Ethiopia and potentially the wider region.
Qualifications
- Hold a PhD degree.
- Possess in‑depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management with direct application in Ethiopia.
- Have relevant experience in local industrial and academic processes and customs.
- Ideally maintain a network of contacts in the private and public sectors to support data collection and information gathering.
- Prior participation in curriculum design and review processes is beneficial.
- Experience presenting results at meetings is essential.
- Work effectively as a team member with academics, industrial partners, and research students.
- Preferably be fluent in Amharic and another local Ethiopian language.
