Overview

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive institution located in the Liverpool City Region. The International Relations team leads the university’s internationalisation efforts, including partnership development, student mobility, and recruiting international students. We are looking for a permanent Regional Manager to join the team, reporting to the Head of International Recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of international recruitment objectives for a portfolio of country markets in line with the University’s strategy.
  • Build effective relationships with external stakeholders to develop market activity and achieve specific international objectives.
  • Provide expertise and market intelligence to support the development of international activity within the University.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to advance the University’s international strategy.
  • Represent the University overseas. Spend considerable time overseas each year, including weekends and evenings as required.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in international student recruitment within a UK university setting.
  • Proven ability to formulate and implement international recruitment plans.
  • Comprehensive understanding of national and international educational developments and their impact on higher education and student recruitment.
  • Knowledge of overseas education systems and qualifications.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience gathering and interpreting data to inform decision‑making.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Track record of meeting targets in a target‑setting environment.
