Liverpool John Moores University

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially focused scientist to strengthen research, innovation and industry engagement in nanoparticle formulations incorporating biologicals, processing and scale-up linked to the BRITE project (https://briteprogramme.co.uk/). The role is ideal for an individual with strong scientific credentials who is motivated to translate research into practical guidance, industrial collaboration and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support LJMU's aim to deliver applied research, consultancy, and collaborative projects that inform real‑world development, manufacturing and scale‑up decisions, including the production of white papers.
  • Research themes include:
  • How formulation variables (excipients, surfactants, buffers, lipids) drive instability and particle risk.
  • Where instability is introduced during manufacturing and scale‑up (mixing, filtration, chromatography, fill‑finish, storage).
  • Develop integrated, risk‑based frameworks to predict and reduce particle formation across development and manufacture.

Collaboration

You will work closely with industry partners to translate science into practical guidance, decision tools and impact‑driven research. Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Imran Saleem or Dr Kehinde Ross.

Benefits

We offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction, development support and family‑friendly policies.
