Post-doctoral Research Officer Hydration and Health in Liverpool

The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to lead a two-year research programme on hydration and health. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Neil Walsh and his team on an industry-funded research programme extending recently published work. Responsibilities

• Study design
• Ethical approval
• Day-to-day running and administration of the research programme
• Implementation of interventions
• Assisting in the collection and interpretation of data
• Production of technical reports and manuscripts for publication

Qualifications

• Completed a PhD in a relevant subject area (nutrition, human physiology, health psychology, exercise science)
• Experience leading high-level research projects
• Experience of biological sample collection (including venous blood collection), handling, storage (in accordance with GLP), biochemical analysis and quality control techniques
• Experience of publishing in high-quality journals (desirable)
• Experience working with industry sponsors (desirable)
• Ability to manage and prioritise a continuously demanding workload

Interviews will likely take place the week commencing 26th January 2026.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence the post in March 2026.
