About this role

You will be appointed as a Lecturer of RE, leading secondary RE education within the secondary ITE team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an integral part of the team ensuring provision is to a high standard and compliant with DfE and OfS requirements.
  • Contribute to the planning, design and development of modules, programmes and curriculum changes, including adaptations resulting from DfE-mandated frameworks.
  • Deliver a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities; at Grade 7 this may involve module leadership.
  • Lead the subject specialist curriculum provision for secondary student teachers, contribute to generic aspects of the ITE programmes, and supervise practice-based learning across a number of partner schools.
  • Engage in evidence-based teaching and real-world research activity, inspiring and collaborating for outstanding student experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A relevant undergraduate degree with QTS, or a PGCE (QTS) with a track record of successful RE teaching with secondary-age students.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment, meeting both academic and professional practice requirements, including internal and external auditing and inspection.
