Job Overview
LJMU is seeking a passionate and innovative Learning Designer (Inclusive Curriculum) for a fixed‑term post until 31st July 2029 to support us to transform learning, champion inclusion and accessibility, and ensure we are delivering excellence across our curricula and learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with academics and professional services to design, develop, and enhance teaching, learning and assessment materials that are inclusive, equitable and accessible.
- Embed inclusive curriculum principles across LJMU, integrating digital and pedagogical practices that support success for all students.
- Support programme teams to create teaching, learning and assessment materials that reflect diverse perspectives, promote equitable outcomes, and translate complex subject matter into accessible and engaging formats.
- Drive and evaluate the implementation of an institution‑wide inclusive curriculum and assessment approach through consultation, resource development and engagement with students and staff.
- Conduct horizon scanning across the sector and beyond for emerging trends in inclusive education, learning design and educational technology, sharing insights to inform LJMU strategy.
Qualifications
- Experienced in designing and delivering inclusive, accessible, learner‑centred experiences in higher education.
- Strong understanding of learning theories, inclusive curriculum design, equity‑focused pedagogy and digital learning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work effectively across teams.
