Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a proactive, partnership-focused Alumni Communities Facilitator to join our award‑winning Student Futures team. Student Futures is LJMU's Careers, Employability and Start‑Up team, providing services & opportunities to students & graduates that help them build confidence & skills, secure great onward destinations and successfully navigate early stages of their career. As a strategic partner, we work collaboratively with academic teams, employers and external partners, transforming potential into success.
The Alumni Communities Facilitator is an exciting new role focused on establishing and sustaining dynamic professional communities, online and in‑person, that provide ongoing connection and value to LJMU alumni and support the professional development, post‑study transition and career progression of LJMU students. This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with colleagues across the university, the Alumni Communities Facilitator will plan and deliver a programme of networking, social and insight events that bring together LJMU students, alumni and colleagues, from celebration events during graduation weeks to forums for sharing experiences, ideas and opportunities.
Qualifications
- A people-first approach and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to network and build rapport quickly.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, deliver and facilitate engaging events and group sessions.
- A creative, entrepreneurial and opportunity-focused mindset.
- A collaborative approach, able to work credibly with both internal and external stakeholders.
