We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Lecturer in Marketing to join our dynamic Business School at Liverpool John Moores University, a forward-thinking institution with a strong commitment to applied learning and industry engagement. About the role:
You will contribute to teaching, learning, and research in our thriving Marketing and Digital Marketing related content, delivering innovative, research-informed teaching that equips our students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in today’s fast-paced marketing environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have a strong record of industry engagement and can demonstrate impact through collaboration with local businesses, agencies, or other organisations.
- Can design and deliver engaging modules, curricula, and assessments that are both academically rigorous and industry-relevant.
- Have experience of teaching in higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and a clear commitment to student-centred learning.
- Are beginning to build a profile of research and scholarship in marketing, digital marketing, or related fields.
- Possess expertise in digital marketing growth areas, including (but not limited to) artificial intelligence generative tools, immersive experiences, omni-channel strategy and journey mapping, and AI-driven search engine optimisation (AI SEO).
- Can integrate digital tools, analytics platforms, and emerging marketing technologies into teaching.
- Have the ability to contribute to course leadership, academic advising, and student mentoring.
- Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Show an understanding of, and commitment to, diversity, inclusivity, and widening participation in higher education.
- Are able to contribute to the School’s external profile through research, consultancy, and professional networking.
About You:
You will be an excellent communicator, able to translate academic theory into practical application, and confident in working with diverse student cohorts. You will have, or be close to completing, a relevant PhD (or equivalent professional experience) and be keen to develop your research portfolio in alignment with the School’s priorities.
